The genuine Piaggio crankcase gasket (OEM number 846098) seals the crankcase of the Leader and Quasar engine blocks hermetically. With a genuine part you are assured of a perfect fit and the right material quality — no redoing a repair job because an imitation gasket doesn't hold.
The Leader and Quasar engine families were fitted to practically the entire Piaggio Group range from the late nineties well into the 2010s: from the Piaggio Beverly, Carnaby, MP3 and X series to Aprilia Sport City and Atlantic, Gilera Nexus and scooters from Vespa and Scarabeo. Always check your OEM number (846098) to be sure this is the right gasket for your specific year of manufacture and version.
Replace the sump gasket during a sump overhaul, after an oil leak around the sump, or when replacing the crankshaft. A new gasket costs a few euros; an engine block that runs around with an oil leak for too long costs many times that amount.
