WHEELER
WORKS.

Privacy statement

In this privacy statement you can read which of your data we use, why, who we share it with and how long we keep it. We keep it short and concrete. Version of 24 September 2026.

1. Who are we?

Wheelerworks is a trade name of Farstripes (sole proprietorship), Van der Duinstraat 128, 5161 BS Sprang-Capelle. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 75488086. We are responsible for the processing of your data. Since 27 September 2025 we have been a webshop only; there is no longer a physical shop.

Questions about privacy? Email [email protected].

2. What data do we use, and why?

Your order. Name, address, email address, telephone number, what you order, how you pay and whether that was successful. Business customers also company name and VAT number. We need this to deliver your order (performance of the contract). We keep order and invoice data for 7 years, because tax law requires it (legal obligation).

Your account. If you create an account, we keep your details, orders, saved vehicles and wishlist until you have the account deleted. Order details are then kept for as long as the tax retention period runs.

Contacting us. If you send us an email, a WhatsApp message or the contact form, we use your message, your name and your contact details to help you (contract, or our legitimate interest if you are not yet a customer). We keep the conversation for as long as is necessary for your question and for later questions about the same order.

Online chat. If you use the chat on the site, we process your questions, the country you are visiting the site from, the page you are on and the vehicles you have saved in your browser. If you want to know something about your own order, we ask for your order number and your email address or postcode. Only when those match does the chat get the details of that one order. We keep chat conversations to improve the answers. See also chapter 3.

Reviews. After delivery we sometimes ask you for a review (legitimate interest). At most once per order and at most once every six months. You can unsubscribe with one click in the email. Customers in the Netherlands receive this request via Trustpilot. Customers outside the Netherlands can choose on the thank-you page to take a Google survey (Google Customer Reviews); we then give Google your email address, country, order number and expected delivery date (consent).

Newsletter. You only receive the newsletter if you subscribe and then click the confirmation link in your email (consent). We keep your email address, language, the time and the IP address of your subscription as proof. You can unsubscribe in every newsletter. After unsubscribing we keep your address on an unsubscribe list, so that we don't email you again.

Incomplete order. If you enter your email address at checkout but don't complete the order, we keep your email address and cart and send you a reminder (legitimate interest). This is also stated next to the input field. You can unsubscribe in the email. This data does not yet have a fixed retention period; if you ask for it to be deleted, we delete it.

Statistics and marketing (only with consent). With your consent we use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, and the Meta pixel to see which products you view and buy, so that we can measure and target advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. For purchases, our server then also sends a notification to Meta (Conversions API). Without your consent this does not happen. You can always change your choice via Cookies at the bottom of every page.

Security and a working site. Our servers and Cloudflare process your IP address and browser data to keep the site fast and secure and to block abuse (legitimate interest). Our server logs are deleted after 7 days.

Accounting and backups. We keep our accounts in Moneybird (legal obligation). We make encrypted backups of the webshop so that we don't lose anything in the event of a failure (legitimate interest). Old backups are cleaned up automatically; the oldest is about six months old.

3. How we use AI

  • The online chat is an AI assistant (Claude, from Anthropic). Its replies are generated automatically and are not read by a person beforehand. For damage, money, returns or complaints, the chat passes your conversation on to us.
  • Customer service by email and WhatsApp. An AI assistant (also Claude, from Anthropic) reads your message and your order details and writes a draft reply. We read and approve every reply before it is sent.
  • Translation. Customers outside the Netherlands and Belgium receive their order emails in their own language. For this, the text of the email, with your name and address, is sent to the translation service DeepL.
  • Images for social media are created by us with OpenAI. For this we only use descriptions of products and situations, never customer data.

We do not make decisions about you that are made solely by a computer and that have legal consequences or similar major consequences for you. A cancellation or refund is always decided by a human.

4. Who do we share your data with?

We never sell your data. We only share what is necessary, with these parties:

  • Payment: Mollie (Netherlands). If you choose Klarna, in3 or PayPal, that party receives the details needed for your payment.
  • Shipping: Sendcloud (Netherlands) creates the shipping label. The carrier you choose (PostNL, DPD, DHL or UPS) receives your name, address, and where needed your email address and phone number for the delivery.
  • Suppliers: some products are sent directly to you by our supplier. That supplier then receives your name and delivery address.
  • Email: Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, Frankfurt, and our mailbox at Amazon WorkMail, Ireland) and Brevo (France) send and receive our email.
  • Translation: DeepL (Germany) for order emails. GTranslate for the translated versions of the site: if you view the site in a language other than Dutch, the page and what you enter on it (for example at checkout) runs through GTranslate.
  • Hosting and security: netcup (servers in Germany), Cloudflare (network and security), Hetzner (back-ups, within the EU) and Google Drive (extra back-up of the webshop).
  • AI: Anthropic (Claude) for the chat and the draft replies of customer service.
  • WhatsApp: Meta, when you contact us via WhatsApp.
  • Reviews: Trustpilot (Denmark) and Google (Google Customer Reviews, only if you choose to).
  • Statistics and marketing, only with consent: Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram pixel).
  • Accounting: Moneybird (Netherlands).
  • Government: only if the law requires us to, for example the Dutch Tax Authority.

Payment services and carriers are partly responsible themselves for what they do with your data.

5. Data outside Europe

Some of these parties are American or also operate from the United States. Google, Meta, Cloudflare, and Amazon are signatories to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; this serves as adequate protection. In its own privacy policy, Anthropic cites the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as a safeguard. Regarding GTranslate, we are not yet certain whether all processing takes place within Europe; we will update this as soon as we know.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage in your browser. We always place necessary cookies (for example for your cart and your cookie choice). We only place cookies for statistics and marketing with your consent. You can read exactly which cookies these are in our cookie policy; you can also change your choice there.

7. Security

The site operates only via a secure connection (https). Our servers are protected, accessible only with a key, and our backups are encrypted. Payment details such as your card number never reach us; Mollie processes them.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • to view your data;
  • to correct incorrect information;
  • to delete your data when we no longer need to keep it;
  • to do less with your data (restriction);
  • to receive your data in a commonly used file format (portability);
  • to stop processing based on our legitimate interest, such as review requests and reminders (objection).

If you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Send your request to [email protected]. We respond within a month. We may ask you to confirm that the data is yours, for example with your order number.

Do you disagree with how we handle your data? Let us know first and we'll look for a solution together. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

9. Changes

If we start using your data in a different way, we will update this statement. The date at the top shows which version you are reading.
