With the Big Apple, the balloon bike trend began ten years ago: comfortable cycling without expensive suspension technology. Air-cushion tyres are used as natural suspension. At approx. 2 bar a balloon bike rolls amazingly lightly and with full suspension action. A normal tyre with a width of 37 mm has to be pumped rock hard to 4 bar to roll equally well.
