The original Kymco kickstart shaft (OEM 28250-KBN-9000) provides the connection between the kickstart pedal and the engine block. With every starting movement, this shaft absorbs the force and transmits it to the starting mechanism. Due to wear or a hard starting attempt, the teeth can be damaged or the shaft can break — this results in a kickstarter that spins freely without a starting attempt.
Replace the shaft in case of visible wear on the teeth, play in the pedal, or a kickstarter that does not spring back. Because this is an original Kymco part, it fits directly onto the engine block of the mentioned models without any modifications.
