This locking plate holds the front chainring firmly in place and prevents the sprocket from coming loose while riding. The center-to-center distance between the mounting holes is 28mm, with Ø6mm holes. This allows the plate to fit smooth Derbi sprockets with threaded holes, as well as Honda MT, MB, and MTX front sprockets.
When replacing or removing your front sprocket, you need a new retaining plate to reliably secure the axle. It is best to replace a worn or deformed retaining plate immediately so that the sprocket remains firmly in place.
