The Buzzetti Vario Locking Wrench (39mm, art. 5442) is a specialized tool for locking the variator on water-cooled 4-stroke scooters with the Piaggio LEADER and Quasar engine platforms. You use it to hold the variator nut still while loosening or tightening — without this tool, the variator rotates along with it, damaging the transmission or the crankshaft.
The 39mm opening fits precisely onto the variator nut common on Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, Gilera, Peugeot, Derbi, Malaguti, and Benelli models with this engine platform (250cc and 300cc H2O 4T, Euro2 to Euro5). Thanks to the shared Piaggio engine block across all these brands, one wrench is sufficient for a wide range of vehicles. Buzzetti tools are known for dimensional accuracy and robust workmanship.
