This original Yamaha voltage regulator keeps the voltage in the electrical system stable and protects the battery and electronics against overload. It is an OEM part (5RN-H1960-00-00) — the same quality and specifications as the factory fitted part.
The voltage regulator converts the alternating current from the dynamo into a regulated direct current of typically 12V. With a defective regulator, you will see symptoms such as a constantly draining battery, bulbs blowing, or unstable lighting. Replacing it with the original Yamaha part guarantees correct operation without modifications to the wiring.
