Product information
The contact point is an essential component of the point ignition system in the Puch Maxi. It opens and closes the coil's primary circuit at exactly the right moment, allowing the spark plug to produce the spark that starts the engine and keeps it running smoothly. A worn or burnt contact point results in typical problems such as poor cold starting, irregular idling, or sudden engine stalling.
This Bosch contact point is supplied including connecting wire and is ready for immediate installation on the Puch Maxi with a 2-stroke engine. Bosch is a reliable name in ignition components for classic mopeds. When installing, check the contact gap (adjustment clearance) and readjust it if necessary using a feeler gauge — an incorrectly set gap will cause starting problems, even with a new contact point.
