This original Piaggio ignition coil (OEM number 58120R) is the direct factory replacement for the ignition coil in a large number of 4-stroke scooters from Piaggio, Vespa, and Aprilia. As an original part, the connector, voltage, and pulse characteristics match the factory assembly seamlessly — no modifications required.
The ignition coil converts the low-voltage signal from the CDI into the high ignition voltage for the spark plug. Difficulty starting, a dropped spark, or fluctuating idle speed are classic symptoms of a defective ignition coil. If in doubt, also replace the spark plug cap if it is older than three years for a lasting result.
Fits models from Piaggio (MP3 250/300/400, Fly 50/125/150, GTV 125/250/300), Vespa (GTS 250, GTS Super 300, LX 4T-4V, LXV, Primavera, Sprint 4T-4V, S 4T-4V) and Aprilia (Scarabeo 50/400/500).
