This IceToolz chain whip or cassette remover is suitable for all gears. The Cr-Mo steel version guarantees good professional quality. The chain whip holds the cassette in place while the cassette lock ring is loosened with the other tool. This must be loosened in the direction of the freewheel. Holding the cassette by hand is not recommended. With this chain whip, which you should actually call a cassette retainer, the job is done in no time. Cr-Mo is the abbreviation for chrome molybdenum steel. A type of steel widely used in toolmaking because Cr-Mo has properties that make the chain whip impact-resistant and rigid.
