Schwalbe Marathon Plus Outer Tire Black R 20x1.75/47-406. The puncture-proof tire. This is Schwalbe's best-selling model. It is the most puncture-resistant pneumatic tire available. In addition to excellent puncture protection, it impresses with many internal qualities: 1 - Rolling resistance. The patented 5mm thick SmartGuard layer offers a significant advantage in terms of rolling resistance compared to all imitation products. 2 - Recycling. Even with SmartGuard, Schwalbe now uses a proportion of recycled rubber from old latex products. 3 - 'Anti-Aging' sidewall. This significantly delays the typical overload caused by low tire pressure before cracks appear. 4 - E-Bike Ready. Thanks to its excellent properties, the Marathon Plus is the best choice for E-Bikes (E-25). The key dimensions have also been tested and approved for fast E-bikes up to 50 km/h. The Marathon Plus is suitable for e-bikes with pedal assistance up to 50 km/h. For these fast e-bikes – S-pedelecs with approval, insurance, and pedal assistance exceeding 25 km/h – this special tire approval is necessary. It is therefore recommended to use e-bike tires with the ECE-R75 approval valid in Europe for these e-bikes. A flat tire can never be completely ruled out, but you are best protected against typical causes of a punctured tire, such as shards of glass or sharp stones, with the tires from the Marathon Plus series. Be sure to use a pressure gauge to set the tire pressure on the Marathon Plus. Due to the special construction of the tire, a tire pressure test using your thumbs is very unreliable.
