The Marathon Plus is the only tire worldwide that can call itself puncture-proof. This is due to its unique, patented anti-puncture layer – five millimeters thick and manufactured from special, highly elastic rubber. Even thumbtacks cannot puncture this tire. However, the new Marathon Plus is not only puncture-proof. The tire now rolls lighter than ever and, thanks to the Anti-Aging sidewalls, lasts an incredibly long time. It is also suitable and certified for high-speed e-bikes.
Rolls lighter Due to the unique puncture protection layer, the Marathon Plus weighs slightly more. Although the Marathon Plus weighs a little more, the rolling characteristics of this tire are excellent. The laboratory test objectively confirms what one can already subjectively experience on the bike – the new Marathon Plus rolls clearly lighter than other tires with a similarly thick puncture protection layer.
Longer life span The original Marathon Plus is now protected against premature aging due to weather conditions or overloading caused by low air pressure. We have developed a special Anti-Aging technology that makes the sidewalls of the Marathon Plus extremely resistant to unsightly cracks. In addition, the Marathon lives up to its name with a new rubber compound: the Endurance compound rolls for thousands of kilometers with excellent handling characteristics and low wear.
Conserves natural resources: The puncture protection layer of the Marathon Plus is extremely elastic. This is doubly important – for total protection and for the dynamic rolling motion. This high elasticity can only be achieved using special rubber containing a large amount of natural rubber. Natural rubber is a precious raw material. It can only be obtained through recycling at a very high cost. Despite this, we still choose to do so. Consequently, the puncture protection layer of the new Marathon Plus consists partly of recycled natural rubber.
Excellent for e-bikes: There is much talk about e-bikes. It is important that they are fitted with extremely stable puncture-resistant tires that have a long lifespan. Naturally, the Marathon Plus meets all the requirements placed on a tire for e-bikes. This applies not only to e-bikes with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. The new Marathon Plus is certified with the European quality mark in all common sizes for e-bikes up to 50 km/h. The following sizes carry the ECE-R75 mark: 47-406, 47-599, 37-622, 40-622, and 47-622.
