Piston

The piston moves up and down in the cylinder and is the beating heart of your two-stroke or four-stroke engine. It provides the compression needed to ignite the fuel mixture and thus drives the entire drivetrain. A worn or damaged piston manifests itself in reduced power, higher fuel consumption, or oil loss.

You choose the right piston based on the engine type, cylinder volume, and exact diameter, expressed in millimeters and sometimes a tolerance class. Also check the pin diameter and head shape, as these determine whether the piston fits your cylinder kit.
