Speednut

A speednut — also known as a cage nut or plate nut — is a clamp nut that you attach behind thin sheet metal without being able to put a nut on the back. You click or slide the speednut onto the edge of the sheet metal, after which a screw can screw directly into it. They are widely used on scooters and mopeds to quickly and securely mount panels, fenders, and cover plates.
