Four ART stars is the rating that matters for scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles: this is the minimum insurers generally require. You will find it on heavy-duty chain locks, U-locks, disc brake locks, and on wall and ground anchors.

A four-star lock only does what it promises when it is attached to something. A chain around only the wheel or a shackle through only the fork requires two people to lift; a wall or ground anchor in the shed or on the driveway is what solves that.

A disc brake lock is a supplement, not a replacement: it holds the wheel but does not secure the vehicle to anything. Filter by product category to select the type. Exactly what your insurer requires is stated in your policy.
